The attitude at this practice is awful. Drs, receptionists and admin staff. This is true of both their surgery's, Vauxhall and Machynys. I don't mind the fact that you have to call at 8.30 to make an appointment or the fact that it takes around 45 minutes to get through. What annoys me is that when you get through they then say that the clinician will call you back. When he/she calls back they do everything possible to convince you that you do not need to see a Dr. Even resorting to making you appointments with a nurse/physician/themselves and not letting you know until you arrive. When I recently had an issue with my back, this resorted in me needing to return 3 times in 10days. If they had allowed me to see a Dr the first time perhaps I wouldn't have needed to return at all. They sent me for an x-ray that the hospital refused to do because they said it wasn't needed in these circumstances which left me upset as it was the only action the clinician/ physician had actually taken. When I tried to get another appointment with the surgery after that, they found out I had self refered to the physio therapist at the hospital and told me to wait until I got an appointment there and the physiotherapist would let me know if I needed to see my Dr. When I eventually got an appointment with the physiotherapist she found this bizarre. For this issue I required some time off work so while at an appointment in the surgery I asked for a self certificate sick paper. The receptionist looked at me and said 'dont you own a phone' I was bewildered by this comment and she continued to tell me that I had to download an app for that. Totally confused how my employer would get my sick note from an app, I repeated that I needed a self certificate to give to my employer and she said 'yes you need an app for that, I will send it through to your phone now' I had left my phone in the car so I accepted this and waited to be called in to see the clinician/nurse. Later that day I remembered the conversation and realized that she never did send me an app or anything else for that matter. A week or so later I called the surgery about 9.15am and told the receptionist I required a Drs note for my employer, she told me all the appointments were gone already and I needed to see a Dr for him to write me a sick note. I told her I had already been seen by clinicians and nurses on three occasions for this issue so surely the Dr could just write the sick note. She was adamant I had to be seen and told me to call back Monday. Monday came and I called at 8.30 to get an appointment. When the receptionist answered and I explained why I needed to see the Dr she told me there was an app for that. Not wanting to play these games anymore I told her that my phone was too old for apps and she told me that she wasn't sure the Dr would have time to see me today but she had put me on the list. Later that day I received a call from the clinician who discussed the issue with me and said the Drs note would be ready to collect later that day. So the receptionist on the Friday was lying? They enjoy being as difficult as they can to make other peoples lives as miserable as theirs. On a separate occasion I had called and got an appointment with a male Dr and I had explained to the clinician over the phone that I had two issues and what they were. One was that I required a new packet of my contraceptive pill. When I saw the Dr we quickly went through my first problem and he was dismissive and decided to take no action for this problem. I then told him I needed some of my pill and he told me it was one problem per appointment. I explained that I needed it and I was about to run out and I also explained that I had told the clinician and he didn't mention that it was one problem per appointment. The Dr then angrily told me he would give me one months worth but no more. Something I found quite strange but I accepted. When I went to pick up the prescription they gave me six months worth. Just another example of how they like to be confrontational for no reason. I have many more stories but they only prove these same points further.

You need to totally change the attitude of everyone who works here.

Was told by dr William's after he was supposed to give ring back he didn't ring . Refused antibiotics to patient or even assess situation and 6.30pm surgery was closed half hour by then go home phone 111 fir out of hours even though hospital wards are closed with norovirus. He most definitely is NOT a caring professional at all .

I have been refused an appointment twice by the receptionist because l refused to tell her why l wanted see a doctor. Even through the main NHS website states than unless l an mentally incapacitated they will uphold my article 8 rights - right to privacy under the human rights act. When asked why l should be telling an unqualified person on the other end of the phone anything about my health. I was told that because the surgery has so few doctors the receptionist with no medical training or qualifications has triage patients. So without all the years of training to qualify & without actually seeing me she can decide if l need to see a doctor. Really? Usually when l ring for an appointment, which is very rarely l don't know what's wrong, so how o earth can she????? I would be extremely happy to book my appointment online & forego the 'pleasure'of dealing with such charming females! PS for the site aministrator's attention l do not have a learning disability, l have additional learning needs.

It is nearly impossible to get an appointment with the surgery. They won't allow forward booking appointments even by a few days which makes things difficult with work. Furthermore, I was told I must ring on the day at eight for an emergency appointment or I would not be able to see a doctor. I rang a total 126 times until I got through to be told that I had to come down to the sugury to book an appointment and I wasn't an emergency. It took two weeks for me to get an appointment. Also, I've never been able to see the same doctor twice. I think people should receive their Healthcare from a person who at least has a basic idea of who they are.

It’s is impossible to make an appointment with the same day system they operate and no flexibility. At 8.30.2 today I was told to ring back as there were more than 50 calls waiting. This is a regular occurrence.
